Dear Lexi,

Warning: when you read this, act like nothing's up.

If all goes as planned, we'll be in the lunchroom when I deliver this. When you get a chance, check out Ashley's hairdo.

Last night Aunt Wendy came over. She said that Darrell said (I don't know why they're always talking!) that Ashley was trying to cut bangs on herself and the scissors slipped. She cut all crooked and now there's a chunk out on one side!!! She's super embarrassed and she's trying to cover it up with a big bow clip!!!

Mom says we need to act nice about it and not make fun.

Check a blank: Agree?______ Disagree?______

Love,
Celeste

PS. Remember when we used to pass notes in class? That was kinda fun, huh? But not the part about writing lines afterward!

Dear Celeste,

I'm glad we agreed to be nice to Ashley and ignore her indubitably ridiculous hairdo. It's much more grownup this way, don't you think?

Besides, now I'll bet she wonders what we're up to.

I'm going to ask Mom if we can get together this weekend. Renita too. You have to come try out our new trampoline. It's fabulously fun!!!

Sincerely,
Lexi

PS. Notes are fun, no matter when or where we incorporate them!!!

Dear Girls,

I'm sick with flu so I can't come to church. Mom said she'd give you a note.

We have coyotes. I was so scared last night I couldn't even sleep.

Please don't talk about detective stuff without me. Promise?

I'll be in school tomorrow. We can talk then. Promise?

Renita
